Merry Matukonis is a Registered Nurse and Holistic Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. She recently relocated back to New England after many years in Central Pennsylvania where she founded her own practice, Optimal Wellness in 2007. Over the past eleven years in her practice, she has succeeded in assisting patients of all ages to achieve optimal health, including healthy digestion, endocrine health, hormonal balancing, and general wellness.

Merry has been a Registered Nurse since 1976. She graduated from Central Maine General Hospital School of Professional Nursing

and practiced in acute care and post-anesthesia nursing in the hospital setting for 30 years. In 2007 she was awarded status as a Certified Clinician in Whole Food Nutrition (CCWFN) after completing a Post Graduate course with High Honors from the International Foundation for Nutrition and Health.

In 2013 Merry became an Applied Clinical Nutritionist (ACN) through Texas Chiropractic College & Standard Process of Pennsylvania. During this time she completed over 100 hours of Post Graduate education in Applied Clinical Nutrition.  Also in 2013 she completed the Platinum Program by Standard Process of Pennsylvania, and received the “Award in Recognition of her Commitment to Patient Health”.

She began studying Nutrition Response Testing with Ulan Nutritional Systems in 2017 and completed the Professional Level Training in Nutrition Response Testing in 2018. Additionally, she has completed hundreds of hours of Post Graduate study through Standard Process and Endocrine Wellness with Dr. Janet Lang, Dr. Annette Schippel, and Dr. Doris Kutz.

Merry is a Certified GAPS Practitioner and has been a member of the Weston A. Price Foundation since 2006. She successfully completed the Medical Ozone Advanced 2 Day Training Course and administers IV Ozone-UBI and IV Nutrition at Dr. Dan’s Natural Healing Center.  She enjoys cooking, kayaking, rug hooking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing.
